About the Role
This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of our academy. You will be responsible for managing the front office and administrative function, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the service. Working closely with the Business Manager and wider leadership team, you will take a proactive approach to managing your workload and responding to the needs of a busy school environment. You will act as the first point of contact for pupils, parents, staff, and visitors, providing a professional, calm, and welcoming presence at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing reception duties and being the main point of contact for all enquiries
- Handling telephone calls, emails, and face-to-face interactions with professionalism and sensitivity
- Maintaining accurate records using systems such as ARBOR
- Providing comprehensive administrative and organisational support across the academy
- Ensuring that daily operations run efficiently through effective planning and prioritisation
- Supporting staff and leadership with general administrative tasks
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a capable and self‑motivated individual who is comfortable taking initiative and managing a wide range of responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
Essential skills and experience:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong administrative and organisational abilities
- Confidence in managing tasks independently and prioritising workload effectively
- Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and solution‑focused in a fast‑paced setting
- Good ICT skills and experience using a range of systems
- A positive, professional, and team‑oriented approach
Additional requirements:
- Numeracy and literacy skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2 or GCSE grades A‑C / 9‑4
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships
- A flexible and resilient approach when working with young people who may need additional support
- Experience using ARBOR (desirable)
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting pupils and contributing positively to a provision that works with young people who may present complex needs. A calm, patient, and consistent approach is essential.
