The Job

To oversee daily warehouse operations and ensure smooth, efficient, and safe workflow. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of warehouse operatives, coordinating tasks, maintaining inventory accuracy, and driving continuous improvement in operational standards.

Main Responsibilities & Duties

  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Supervise, motivate, and support warehouse staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
    • Allocate daily tasks and monitor performance against KPIs.
    • Lead daily shift briefings to communicate targets, safety updates, and priorities.
    • Provide training, coaching, and feedback to team members.
    • Deputise and cover essential tasks in the Warehouse Manager's absence.
    • Carry out additional duties requested by a member of the management team, as the requirements of the business demand.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Oversee receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch activities.
    • Ensure all stock is handled accurately and recorded in line with company systems.
    • Ensure warehouse cleaning and housekeeping is maintained to an optimal standard.
    • Implement efficient processes to maximise productivity and minimise errors.

Health, Safety & Compliance Requirements

  • Previous experience in a warehouse team leader or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritise, plan, and organise workloads effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • A proactive and hands-on approach.
  • Forklift licence and driving experience.
