Leads and oversees the portfolio management of matters within the Mainstream Corporate (MSC) practice in London. Works closely with Business Managers, Gen AI team, BDM, Resource Managers, Finance and Pricing along with the Head of Matter Optimisation Corporate to manage matter health, provide ongoing advice and guidance, align products and services and ensure the adoption of relevant tools – including AI – resourcing, and processes.
Your key responsibilities
- Collaborates with Matter Managers (MMs) to ensure overall matter health is maintained.
- Supports MMs throughout the matter lifecycle, including kick-off, ongoing management, and closing discussions.
- Assists in MM meetings, particularly for high-stakes matters.
- Facilitates action-driven follow-ups after meetings to keep the portfolio team informed, aligned and on track.
- Organises additional support from Business Teams and other in-practice teams, when needed to enhance matter management.
- Works closely with the in-practice GenAI team and knowledge lawyers to leverage existing knowledge resources, and be a key point of connection between knowledge, GenAI and profitability projects.
- Identifies key trigger points for engaging resource and technology teams to optimise efficiency, especially AI.
- Ensures the accurate collection and management of essential matter data, such as pricing, including input and support for GenAI pricing strategies.
- Works closely with practice leadership to oversee department-level portfolio management.
- Leads portfolio governance meetings, assesses matter health, and provides insights to drive decision-making.
- Analyses data for trends and issues, delivering regular reports to teams and partners to enhance strategic planning.

- Experience of working within and coordinating a practice in a professional services firm, preferably in the legal sector.
- Track record of working within and coordinating a practice in a professional services (working closely with partners, lawyers).
