Linklaters is a global law firm, providing legal services in 20 countries and through 30 offices. Linklaters is a people business. Being best in class in the eyes of our clients means that our people must be exceptional. We look not only for brilliant minds, but for people who will thrive in our environment: people who love working collaboratively and demonstrate the innovative, efficient, agile, entrepreneurial, and responsible mind-set we aim to bring to every interaction. Ours is an environment of outperformance. We achieve this not with targets and incentives, but by fostering a positive, supportive, fair, and open atmosphere. We respect and value difference but insist on inclusivity. We celebrate all aspects of diversity and challenge any form of bias. This is vital to our ability to work as one team, with a common goal.

We are looking for an experienced Personal Assistant to provide a highly proactive, trusted, and client‑focused service to a group of Partners and Counsel within one of our London practice groups. This is a role for someone who enjoys building close working relationships, exercising sound judgement, and operating with impact in a fast‑paced, high‑performing environment. With a lower ratio of principals than a traditional secretarial role, you will have the opportunity to embed yourself in your fee‑earners' practices, anticipate requirements, and take real ownership of how they work day to day. You will be a key point of contact internally and externally, supporting everything from diary and inbox management through to billing, business development activity, and client interactions.

Your role will include:

  • Providing end‑to‑end PA and administrative support, including document work, matter management, billing and expenses
  • Proactively managing complex diaries and inboxes, anticipating priorities and preparing fee‑earners for meetings, travel and deadlines
  • Acting as a first point of contact for clients and stakeholders, responding confidently and professionally on behalf of your fee‑earners
  • Coordinating internal and external meetings, preparing and circulating materials, taking minutes and following up actions where required
  • Supporting business development and marketing activity, including pitch production and event coordination
  • Playing an active role in the billing process, working closely with Revenue Management and reducing administrative burden for fee‑earners
  • Managing travel arrangements and ensuring everything is in place ahead of client meetings and trips
  • Working collaboratively with other PAs, Secretaries and Administrative Assistants in line with our "one team" approach
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and ways of working, and contributing to continuous improvement across the team

This is a varied and trusted role where confidentiality, accuracy and judgement are paramount, and where your contribution genuinely enables others to perform at their best.

We are keen to hear from a confident, organised and service‑driven PA who enjoys being one step ahead and thrives in a professional services environment. Ideally, you will bring:

  • At least 3 years' experience working as a Personal Assistant or Secretary, ideally within a legal or professional services setting
  • Strong MS Office skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with confidence using systems and an interest in new ways of working
  • Excellent organisational and self‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and stay calm under pressure
  • A proactive, client‑service mindset – adaptable, responsive and comfortable using initiative and judgement
  • Polished communication skills, with the confidence to interact with senior stakeholders and clients at all levels
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a strong sense of professionalism and discretion
  • High levels of integrity and an appreciation of the confidential nature of the work
  • Resilience and flexibility, with the willingness to adapt your working day when urgent priorities arise
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to support and guide more junior team members where needed

If you enjoy being a trusted partner to senior professionals, take pride in delivering a seamless service, and like working as part of a high‑performing team, this role offers real breadth, exposure and the opportunity to make a visible impact.

This role is based at the Linklaters London office with a hybrid working model available.

Joining Team Linklaters will see you qualify for a range of benefits designed to reward the vital contribution you will be making to our success. These include:

  • Health & Wellbeing: Private Medical Insurance, Free in-house fitness centre and subsidised health club memberships, Free onsite GP service and periodic health assessments
  • Finance: Pension and flexible savings options, Income protection and life assurance, Mortgage advice and will-writing services
  • Family & Lifestyle: Electric car and cycle to work schemes, Emergency family care, Additional holiday/birthday leave, Maternity/paternity/shared parental leave, Travel insurance and season ticket loan, Option to join sports and social clubs, as well as our employee networks groups (such as our Gender Equality Network, With Pride, or Social Mobility Networks)
