The Role
As a Senior Business Development Manager within the TMT/IP practice group, you will play a key role in supporting the development and execution of business development strategies that drive growth across our product areas.
Working closely with partners, lawyers and colleagues across the Business Development & Marketing function, you will use market insight, client intelligence and data-led analysis to identify opportunities, strengthen client relationships and deliver impactful, client-focused initiatives.
This is a varied and highly collaborative role, offering the opportunity to contribute to strategic planning, drive cross-selling opportunities and support profitable revenue growth, while developing your skills within a supportive and high-performing team.
- Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of strategic business development plans for the TMT/IP practice, driving growth across key product areas and supporting profitable revenue generation.
- Ensure local TMT/IP and client targeting strategies are aligned with global business development priorities, firmwide objectives and broader growth ambitions.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the Corporate Division as part of the Corporate Business Development leadership team, identifying and delivering opportunities for cross-practice collaboration.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the global Business Development & Marketing function, fostering connectivity, knowledge sharing and alignment with global initiatives.
- Champion the effective use of global processes, shared services, technology platforms and business development tools to maximise efficiency and impact.
- Lead the development of compelling win strategies, client pitches and panel submissions, ensuring high-quality, commercially focused outputs that differentiate the firm in the market.
- Partner closely with Client and Sector Business Development teams to identify opportunities, deliver targeted go-to-market campaigns and strengthen relationships with priority clients and sectors.
- Drive the use of data-led insights, market intelligence and technology to support horizon scanning, opportunity identification, pipeline management and informed strategic decision-making across the TMT/IP practice.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing Business Development team, fostering an inclusive, collaborative and supportive culture that encourages continuous learning and professional growth.
- What we’re looking for
- Significant business development experience within a professional services environment, with particular exposure to Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) and/or Intellectual Property (IP) practice areas.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of relevant market trends, including digital transformation, technology transactions, media regulation, telecommunications infrastructure and IP protection strategies.
- Proven experience developing and delivering successful business development strategies that support organisational objectives and drive sustainable growth.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and capitalise on market opportunities, build strong stakeholder relationships and collaborate effectively across international teams and functions.
- Experience leading strategic client pursuits, pitches and panel submissions, with the ability to create compelling value propositions and win strategies.
- Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with experience using market intelligence, technology and reporting tools to generate actionable insights and inform business development activity.
