The Role: The BD Manager will support the development and delivery of business development strategies to drive growth across the Capital Markets practice, with a particular focus on Debt Capital Markets and Derivatives. Working closely with partners and key stakeholders, you will identify and pursue opportunities through strong product insight and data-led intelligence. The role will play a key part in delivering clientâcentric BD initiatives, strengthening internal and external relationships, and supporting cross-selling to achieve sustainable and profitable revenue growth.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and delivery of business development plans to drive growth across the Debt Capital Markets and Derivatives practices.
- Ensure practice and client targeting strategies are aligned with global BD objectives and the Firmâs wider strategy.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across global BD teams and the wider Business Development & Marketing function to drive collaboration and connectivity across regions.
- Develop and execute coordinated global practice and client growth plans, identifying and facilitating cross-selling opportunities with international product teams.
- Provide high-quality input into win strategies, pitches and panel submissions to support successful client outcomes.
- Strengthen the market profile of the practices through effective management of global rankings submissions and legal directory coverage.
- Work closely with Client & Sector BD teams to deliver sector-focused growth initiatives and compelling go-to-market campaigns for priority clients.
- Leverage data, insights and technology to support horizon scanning, opportunity identification, pipeline management and the delivery of consistent, fit-for-purpose BD intelligence.
What weâre looking for:
- Proven experience in business development within legal or professional services, ideally within Capital Markets and with exposure to Debt Capital Markets and/or Derivatives.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver BD strategies that are aligned to firm-wide and practice-level objectives.
- A strong track record of identifying and progressing growth opportunities through client, sector and product insight.
- Experience working effectively across global teams, fostering collaboration and connectivity between regions.
- Strong analytical capability, with experience leveraging data, market intelligence and technology to inform BD activity and decision-making.
- Confidence providing strategic input into pitches, panel submissions and client opportunities, working closely with senior stakeholders.
