About us
Linklaters is a global law firm, providing legal services in 20 countries and through 30 offices. Linklaters is a people business. Being best in class in the eyes of our clients means that our people must be exceptional. We look not only for brilliant minds, but for people who will thrive in our environment: people who love working collaboratively and demonstrate the innovative, efficient, agile, entrepreneurial, and responsible mind-set we aim to bring to every interaction. Ours is an environment of outperformance. We achieve this not with targets and incentives, but by fostering a positive, supportive, fair, and open atmosphere. We respect and value difference but insist on inclusivity. We celebrate all aspects of diversity and challenge any form of bias. This is vital to our ability to work as one team, with a common goal.
The Role
As an AI & Matter Pricing Senior Advisor, you will lead the firm’s pricing approach for complex legal matters, including those incorporating technology and AI-assisted delivery. Acting as a trusted expert, you will advise partners and senior stakeholders on innovative pricing strategies, financial modelling and alternative fee arrangements to support commercially strong outcomes. You will also play a key role in developing and embedding advanced pricing capabilities across the firm, working collaboratively across Finance and the wider business to strengthen tools, governance and best practice.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively across legal, Legal Tech, Finance, Matter Optimisation and Legal Project Management teams to develop compelling commercial proposals for complex matters, including those involving AI-assisted and technology-enabled delivery.
- Develop bespoke financial models and pricing scenarios for complex matters, providing robust commercial analysis and supporting negotiations, competitive bids and alternative fee arrangements.
- Develop and maintain standardised pricing models and tools for common complex matter scenarios, improving consistency, efficiency and response times across the firm.
- Project manage the financial aspects of complex matter proposals, coordinating stakeholders, managing key milestones and ensuring alignment with proposal, negotiation and governance requirements.
- Guide fee proposals through relevant internal approval processes, providing commercial challenge and recommendations while identifying opportunities to strengthen pricing governance and best practice.
- Advise Partners and senior stakeholders on pricing strategy, commercial terms and negotiation approaches, including engaging directly with clients where required to support commercially sustainable outcomes.
- Ensure agreed pricing and fee arrangements are accurately documented and implemented within the firm’s systems and processes, working closely with lawyers, project managers, billers and other relevant teams.
- Drive the continued development of the firm’s pricing capability through market and trend analysis, reporting and insight, training and knowledge sharing, and the testing and application of AI use cases within pricing.
What we’re looking for
- At least three years’ experience in a pricing role, ideally within the legal or wider professional services sector.
- A proactive and self‑motivated approach, with the ability to take ownership and responsibility for key areas of work.
- Strong commercial awareness and a client‑focused mindset, with a commitment to delivering high‑quality outcomes.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accuracy and sound judgement when working under pressure.
- A collaborative and flexible approach, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary and global team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work effectively with a range of stakeholders across the business.
