Commercial Director Leicester Ready to stop managing a patch and start owning the commercial direction?

We're looking for an ambitious, commercially minded sales professional who wants to take the next step in their career.

This could be the ideal move for an experienced Senior Account Manager, Sales Manager, Business Development Manager or Commercial Manager who has built a strong track record of winning and growing business and is now ready to step into a broader leadership role.

You don't need to have held the title of Commercial Director before.

What matters is that you're commercially hungry, strategically minded and capable of turning opportunities into revenue.

The Opportunity You'll be joining an established, member-owned business with a genuinely collaborative culture and a clear ambition to grow.

You'll take ownership of the commercial function, working closely with the senior leadership team to shape and execute the company's growth strategy.

This is a hands-on commercial leadership role.

You'll be expected to think strategically, but you'll also be close enough to the customer to know what's really happening in the market.

You'll identify opportunities, develop relationships, strengthen the sales process and create a clear commercial plan for sustainable growth.

And because the business is member-owned , there is a different mindset.

People aren't simply numbers on a spreadsheet.

There is a genuine sense of ownership, collaboration and shared success.

What You'll Be Responsible For Developing and executing the company's commercial and sales strategy Identifying new markets, customers and revenue opportunities Building and maintaining high-value customer relationships Developing existing accounts and increasing customer lifetime value Creating a structured, measurable business development strategy Managing and improving the sales pipeline and forecasting process Working closely with operational teams to ensure commercial opportunities can be delivered effectively Monitoring market trends, competitors and customer requirements Developing commercial propositions that differentiate the business Supporting pricing, tenders, negotiations and major commercial opportunities Providing clear commercial insight to the senior leadership team Helping build a high-performance, accountable commercial culture Who We're Looking For We're deliberately not looking for someone who has simply collected Commercial Director titles.

You might currently be a: Senior Account Manager Sales Manager Business Development Manager Commercial Manager Head of Sales Senior Business Development Executive You may already be managing people - or you may be an experienced individual contributor who's ready to make the jump.

You'll need to demonstrate: A proven track record of winning new business and growing existing accounts Strong commercial instincts Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills The ability to develop and execute a sales strategy Confidence dealing with senior decision-makers Strong communication and presentation skills A proactive, entrepreneurial approach The ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution The ambition to make a genuine commercial impact Experience within manufacturing, construction, timber, building products or a related B2B environment would be advantageous.

Why This Role?

Because it's an opportunity to build something rather than inherit something.

You'll have the opportunity to influence the commercial direction of an established business rather than simply managing an existing sales team and reporting the numbers.

You'll work alongside a leadership team that values ideas, initiative and collaboration.

And you'll be joining a business where the culture is genuinely important.

Member-owned.

Collaborative.

Ambitious.

Commercially focused.

The role also offers hybrid working , giving you the flexibility to balance customer-facing activity, collaboration with the team and focused strategic work from home.

The Opportunity for the Right Person If you're already a strong commercial operator, the step into Commercial Director doesn't have to mean waiting another five years for someone to give you permission to do it.

This role gives you the opportunity to take ownership, influence strategy and prove what you can do at the next level.

We're looking for someone who sees the £60k salary and thinks: 'That's the opportunity I'm looking for - now give me the platform to deliver.' If that's you, we'd like to talk.
