Drainage Supervisor - Hull

You know drainage. You can lead a team. And when something goes wrong on site, you're the person people look to.

That's exactly what we're looking for.

We're representing an established and growing environmental and drainage services business with a strong reputation for delivering specialist drainage solutions to commercial and industrial customers.

They're now looking for an experienced Drainage Supervisor to join their Hull operation.

This is a hands-on supervisory role. You won't be sitting behind a desk all day.

You'll be responsible for making sure jobs are planned properly, carried out safely, completed to a high standard and delivered efficiently - while supporting and leading the engineers on the ground.

What will you be doing?

  • Supervising and supporting drainage engineers across a range of commercial drainage works
  • Taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of jobs and making sure work is completed correctly
  • Ensuring teams work safely and in line with company procedures and relevant legislation
  • Acting as the link between the operational team, customers and management
  • Helping engineers resolve issues on site and making decisions when jobs don't go to plan
  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship, customer service and professionalism
  • Monitoring job progress and making sure work is completed within agreed timescales
  • Supporting the planning and coordination of labour, vehicles and equipment
  • Carrying out site visits and providing practical support to engineers where required
  • Identifying opportunities to improve operational performance and efficiency
  • Ensuring paperwork, job records and reporting are completed accurately
  • Providing leadership to the team and helping develop less experienced engineers

What we're looking for

You don't need to be a career manager.

In fact, we'd be particularly interested in someone who has come up through the drainage industry and is now ready to take responsibility for a team.

You could be an experienced Drainage Engineer, Senior Drainage Engineer, Team Leader or Supervisor who knows the industry inside out and is ready for the next step.

You'll need

  • Strong practical drainage experience
  • The confidence to supervise and lead engineers
  • Good communication and customer-facing skills
  • A safety-first approach
  • The ability to stay calm and make decisions when things don't go according to plan
  • A genuine willingness to get involved rather than simply delegate

Why move?

Because this isn't just another drainage job.

You'll be joining a business with the infrastructure and ambition to grow, while giving you the opportunity to step into a genuine supervisory position and make your mark on the Hull operation.

If you're currently the person everyone turns to when a difficult job comes in, it might be time for your job title to reflect it.
