We're working with a well-established specialist vehicle manufacturer in Batley that designs, builds and converts high-specification vehicles for demanding customers. They're growing their team and are looking for experienced Coach Builders who want to work on something more interesting than the same production line every day. This is bespoke vehicle work. Every project brings different challenges, meaning you'll need to be someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in their workmanship and doesn't need everything spelled out for them.
You'll be working on the structural and bodywork side of specialist vehicle builds and conversions. You'll be involved in:
- Building and fitting vehicle bodies, structures and components
- Working from engineering drawings and specifications
- Cutting, shaping and fabricating materials accurately
- Installing floors, panels, partitions, doors and associated components
- Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Carrying out modifications and adaptations to existing vehicles
- Ensuring finished work meets the required quality standards
- Working as part of a skilled team to deliver projects on time
You'll need experience in coach building, vehicle body building, commercial vehicle conversion, fabrication or a closely related environment.
We're not looking for people who simply want to clock in, do the minimum and clock out. We're looking for people who:
- Have hands-on experience in coach building, vehicle body building, mechanical fitting or a related trade
- Can read and understand engineering drawings
- Are comfortable using a wide range of hand and power tools
- Take genuine pride in their workmanship
- Can work accurately without someone standing over them
- Enjoy solving problems when things don't go exactly to plan
- Understand the importance of quality, safety and hitting deadlines
- Work well as part of a team
- Want to develop their skills and build a career in specialist vehicle manufacturing
