Linking Associates are working as an employment agency on behalf of an international high-performance marketing company based in Bristol, UK. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be involved in delivering the infrastructure projects as well as managing the Elastic Stack data stores and solutions. Your role will be to manage availability, latency, performance, efficiency, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning with regards to the various ElasticSearch clusters. You will be working in a truly DevOps capacity, providing support to all works regarding the document stores and application requirements. You will also be involved in the development lifecycle as a crucial member of a multi-disciplined DevOps team, responsible for administering and maintaining the Elastic Search document store clusters, self-managed and ran from AWS. You will take the initiative in evolving and continuously improving the data infrastructure, reliability and its performance for the network/platform.
Role Responsibilities
- Setting up ElasticSearch clusters for production & testing
- Tuning, administering and refactoring ElasticSearch cluster setup
- Reviewing and improving current ElasticSearch queries and processes within the product
- Management of all plugins and interfaces with integrations into the various products
- Development of Kibana dashboards providing insight into the operations of the various products
- Supporting the Agile/Scrum team with all ElasticSearch and other data requirements for development processes
- Supporting the DevOps team with the use of Ansible and other forms of infrastructure as code
- Assist in supporting the role of data and ELK with regards to CI/CD
Qualifications
You will be awesome at:
- Elasticsearch stack and enterprise production experience using multi-node implementations
- Kibana and ElasticSearch scripting
- Infrastructure-as-Code and Automation advocate (Ansible, Puppet & Terraform)
- AWS, EC2, Lambda and Amazon's web services for development
- Linux (Ubuntu or Centos Preferred)
- Delivering projects in a CI/CD environment
Things you can learn if you are not already competent:
- PHP, Node and Python
- Jira, Confluence, GIT and other key development tools
