An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Team Leader with an electrical bias to join a well-established, high-volume food manufacturing site in Wrexham. You will lead a small, skilled maintenance team on shift, ensuring equipment reliability, production efficiency, and the highest standards of safety and quality are consistently met. This role combines hands-on engineering with leadership responsibility and is ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their engineering career.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities - Maintenance Team Leader
- Lead, motivate, and coordinate a small on-shift maintenance team
- Act as the senior engineering support on shift, particularly for electrical faults and issues
- Ensure timely completion of planned and reactive maintenance activities
- Prioritise workloads to minimise downtime and maintain production performance
- Support and coach team members, encouraging development and best practice
- Ensure strict adherence to health & safety, food safety, and company procedures
- Complete shift handovers, reporting, and maintenance documentation accurately
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with root cause analysis of breakdowns
- Liaise with production and other departments to maintain smooth site operations
Qualifications & Experience - Maintenance Team Leader
- Level 3 qualification in an electrical or engineering discipline (or equivalent)
- Strong electrical fault-finding experience within a manufacturing environment (FMCG or food manufacturing preferred)
- Previous experience leading or mentoring engineers or technicians
- Good working knowledge of PLC fault-finding (desirable but not essential)
- Able to make sound decisions under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Strong communication and leadership skills
