As a Copart Vehicle Image Damage Assessor, you will be responsible for preparing an engineer’s report on behalf of insurance companies. You will check all documents containing information on any physical damage, vehicle information, vehicle images, as well as any vital information regarding the vehicle, and make necessary amendments as required. You will be responsible for conducting market research to identify the market value of the vehicle, by considering all aspects of conditions including mileage, previous damage, HPI data, and other information. You will assign salvage categories using the ABI Code of Practice and considering company guidelines. You will be aware of our Service Level Agreements and adhere to the different processes to maintain them. Training will be provided for our internal systems used in report writing.
This position is a remote role, working from home, although you may be required to attend our Head Office or an Operation Centre.
What we need from you:
- You will already have or be willing to enrol in the following related professional bodies; MIMI, IAEA or IRTE and you will be familiar with insurance claims procedures and information requirements relating to claim types.
- Ability to interpret degrees of vehicle damage and possible consequences and to use leading computerised repair estimating systems.
- Previous proven body shop estimating experience.
- Experience of motor vehicles, familiarity with all types of damage and repair methods.
- Knowledge of VDA.
- Good understanding and knowledge of estimating and valuation tools i.e. Glass’, CAP, Audatex and HPI.
- Knowledge of basic legal vehicle road worthiness requirements under the Road Traffic Act.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Great attention to detail.
- Microsoft Office Skills.
