What you will do:
- Lead a team, managing a caseload that typically includes 20–24 cases, spanning complex Child in Need, Child Protection, and assessments.
- Provide regular supervision to your team, ensuring each member has the support and guidance they need, with sessions typically held fortnightly.
- Oversee the quality assurance of services provided, maintaining our GOOD rating and striving for excellence in practice.
- Collaborate with six teams covering different areas, ensuring effective resource allocation and crisis management across Torquay, Paignton, and Brixham.
- Engage in remote working as necessary, attending the office up to three times per week and being present full-time during duty weeks.
- Facilitate child protection and duty week cover, which occurs every three weeks, ensuring a consistent and responsive approach.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation for all cases, supporting our commitment to best practices.
Requirements of the Team Manager:
- Possess a Degree or equivalent in social work and maintain a current registration with Social Work England.
- Demonstrate significant frontline experience in UK Social Services, particularly within Team Manager roles.
- Be willing and able to travel across Torbay and occasionally out of county to visit children placed outside the area.
