About the Role:
Gap Personnel is recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to work for our client on-site in Hortonwood, Telford. You will lead a team of electricians, ensuring all electrical maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. This role involves both planned and reactive maintenance, compliance management, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, support, and develop your team to ensure high-quality electrical maintenance.
- Ensure all electrical work meets required standards and complies with legislation.
- Manage inspections, testing, alarms, emergency lighting, and safety system maintenance.
- Act as an authorised person for HV/LV switching and support system failure response.
- Prepare and maintain risk assessments, method statements, and related documentation.
- Plan and allocate workloads to ensure maintenance is completed on schedule.
- Provide technical guidance and ensure team members have proper training.
- Manage contractors, reviewing RAMS, issuing permits, and supervising work.
- Verify work completion, collect certifications, and update records.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with other departments to minimise operational impact.
- Support capital projects, energy management initiatives, and building surveys.
- Maintain good 5S practices and a safe working environment.
- Be flexible to cover off-site or on-call duties as required.
Essential Qualifications:
- 18th Edition Electrical Certification
- Level 3 Electrical Installation
- City & Guilds 2931 (Inspection & Testing)
- Strong IT skills
- Willingness to join on-call rota and work off-site when needed
Desirable Qualifications:
- ONC/HNC or degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Experience & Knowledge:
- Proven experience in building or facilities electrical maintenance
- Strong understanding of electrical compliance, permit-to-work systems, and safe isolation
- Ability to carry out risk assessments and method statements
- Experience in planned and reactive maintenance in operational environments
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and produce clear reports
- Knowledge of Lean principles, 5S, and continuous improvement
