The scope of this position is, within the Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental department, to support the execution of Engineering Projects, with the following deliverables:
- Advise Project execution in issues related to Technical Safety and Technical Environmental Protection;
- Advise Project execution in issues related to Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental protection;
- Review of regulatory and other requirements, including client requirements. Identify and propose measures and monitor compliance;
- Preparation of project documents and deliverables in accordance with Master Document Register and Project Schedule;
- Advise projects and facilitate the identification of risks, control measures and mitigation measures in projects;
- Facilitate, as required, TRA, HAZID, HAZOP and other Technical Safety workshops;
- Advise projects and corporate on Health, Safety and Environmental requirements, through Technical Opinion / reports;
- Prepare and submit to Clients, as required: HAZID (or other safety workshops) Terms of Reference, HAZID (or other workshop) Report, Design Risk Register, Design Justification Report, Design Decisions Register.
Problem Solving:
- Describe the typical complex and challenging situations that the Function will deal with;
- Implementation of Safety in Design process and Risk Assessment techniques;
- Determination of ALARP;
- Coordinate technical meetings;
- Determine Root Causes of potential events.
Required Education:
- University Degree (in Engineering - naval, mechanical, civil, environmental), with additional qualification / training in health and safety, risk management, construction, environmental health, science or engineering is preferred.
- Preferably with working knowledge of Risk Management, namely ISO 31000 standard. Trained or demonstrable experience in Technical Risk Management.
Required Professional Experience:
- 10+ years of professional experience in industrial environments, namely in Wind, Offshore and/or O&G;
- Qualification in Health and Safety;
- Proficiency in Process / Technical safety, namely with HAZIDs;
- Working knowledge of UK CDM regulations (preferable);
- Lead auditor (ISO 14001 or 45001).
Knowledge:
- Understanding of applicable codes, regulations and requirements related to construction and design legislation and international and national standards for Offshore Wind and/or floating offshore facilities (probably transferable from Oil and Gas);
- Understanding of engineering processes and operational controls;
- Working knowledge of English;
- Microsoft Office software including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
