Field Engineer – Auto Electrical / Telematics | HGV / LCV / Bus & Coach
South West - M5 Corridor

GTS is working with a leading provider of vehicle technology solutions across the HGV, LCV, Bus & Coach sectors, delivering cutting-edge systems including telematics, CCTV, safety systems, and bespoke vehicle integrations.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Field Engineer to support installations, maintenance, and fault finding across client sites in the South West (M5 Corridor).
The Role:
- As a Field Engineer (Telematics & Vehicle Systems), you will be hands-on with a wide range of vehicle technologies, including:
- Installation of telematics systems (J1939, J1708, FMS, CANbus, CANcliq)
- Wiring & tracking installations across 12V & 24V systems (cars, vans, HGVs, trailers)
- Fitting CCTV systems (dashcams + multi-channel up to 12 cameras)
- Installation of vehicle safety systems (DVS, ADAS, AI cameras, breathalock / Alcolock)
- Working with temperature monitoring systems (Transcan, multi-probe setups)
- Installing in-cab driver tech (tablets, mounts, driver monitoring systems)
- Completing tacho integrations & remote downloads
- Installing lighting systems, beacons, inverters & power solutions
- Supporting specialist installs such as Suzi connections
What We Are Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Field Engineer / Vehicle Technician / Auto Electrician
- Strong knowledge of vehicle electrics (12V / 24V systems)
- Experience with CANbus, telematics, CCTV, or vehicle safety systems
- Confident with fault finding & diagnostics in the field
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Strong communication skills when dealing with clients on-site
- Full UK driving licence
