A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Algorithms Engineer (RF Seeker Systems) to join a specialist engineering function to support the development of advanced RF seeker technologies and algorithm development activities. This role performs the duties of algorithm development, systems analysis and performance evaluation within complex RF seeker environments and reports to a senior engineering lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement algorithms for RF seeker systems and ensure they are fit for purpose
  • Conduct system-level studies to identify performance improvements and future enhancements
  • Perform detailed data analysis to support systems design decisions
  • Integrate algorithms within complex seeker modelling and simulation environments
  • Run investigations and structured studies to validate hypotheses and system performance
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams across systems, modelling and software disciplines
  • Contribute to innovation activities including agile methods, AI/ML exploration and process improvements
  • Undertake technical analysis to support design trade-offs and system optimisation

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Strong experience in algorithm development within engineering or scientific environments
  • Experience using MATLAB for modelling, simulation or data analysis
  • Background in running structured investigations to support systems design decisions
  • Strong data analysis skills with ability to interpret complex datasets
  • Experience in technical problem solving within a systems engineering context
  • Exposure to simulation or modelling tools such as Simulink (desirable)
  • Knowledge of RF systems or digital signal processing (desirable)
  • Ability to write clear technical reports and present analytical findings
  • Interest or exposure to machine learning or AI techniques (desirable)

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Proven experience in algorithm development
  • Strong MATLAB proficiency
  • Experience in planning and executing technical investigations
  • Strong data analysis capability
  • Ability to work in a structured engineering environment delivering analytical outputs
