Contract Opportunity – Project Engineer (Aerospace) Contract | Immediate Start Preferred Location - Southampton

We're supporting a leading aerospace engineering organisation that has recently secured a major international programme and is looking to bring in an experienced Project Engineer to support delivery. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a next-generation commercial aircraft programme, with a focus on fuel and associated systems (including pumps, valves, and inerting technologies), alongside ongoing sustainment engineering activities.

The Role

You'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of complex aerospace systems, working across multidisciplinary teams and engaging with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating engineering activities across design, test, systems, and supply chain
  • Supporting programme delivery in line with technical, budget, and schedule requirements
  • Managing technical risks and driving resolution of engineering issues
  • Liaising with suppliers and cross-functional teams
  • Supporting product lifecycle activities (modifications, updates, obsolescence)
  • Contributing to programme reviews and technical documentation

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Project Engineer in aerospace or a highly regulated industry
  • Strong background in electro-mechanical systems (mechanical bias preferred)
  • Experience across the full engineering lifecycle (design, test, validation, certification)
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and support delivery
  • Strong problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience with aircraft fuel systems or similar complex systems
  • Background in systems integration, test & verification (V&V), or flight test
  • Knowledge of aerospace standards / certification processes
  • Experience in fast-paced programme environments
