About the Role:

We are proud to be recruiting for a Software Consultant Team Leader on behalf of a specialist organisation supporting the timber construction market. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong and customer-focused professional to take a leadership role within a highly innovative business.

In this role, you will act as a key technical advisor and player-manager, leading a small team of Software Consultants while delivering exceptional service to a customer base of timber fabricators. You will be responsible for growing and supporting both existing and new customer relationships by providing consultancy, onboarding, demonstrations, and technical guidance. You will also collaborate closely with commercial, development, and innovation teams, influencing wider business strategy and ensuring the software offering remains aligned to evolving market needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the UK-based Software Consultancy Team, coaching, developing, and supporting team members to maximise customer impact.
  • Provide expert technical consultancy to existing and new customers in the offsite timber fabrication sector.
  • Develop and deliver bespoke software strategies for key accounts, focusing on long-term growth and customer success.
  • Support customer onboarding, training, and education on software solutions.
  • Engage directly with customer stakeholders to align the product offering with manufacturing and design requirements.
  • Introduce customers to new software features and updates, ensuring successful adoption.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with innovation and commercial teams, contributing market insights and customer feedback to business strategy.
  • Support the acquisition of new accounts by partnering with the wider sales team.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and standards, ensuring consultancy expertise remains current and valuable.
  • Attend and represent the business at trade shows, client meetings, and industry events when required.
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety and promote company values and principles.

Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in technical software implementation, ideally in construction technology, timber frame, floor, or truss manufacturing industries.
  • Strong experience in customer-facing consultancy, support, or service roles.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement tailored customer strategies that drive engagement, retention, and growth.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Hands-on leadership skills with experience coaching or guiding a team.
  • Self-motivated, commercially astute, and results-driven.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and execute tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally up to 70% of the time.
