The company is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, and delivery of electrical systems across a range of energy and process engineering projects. Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will contribute to the development of electrical designs, technical documentation, equipment specifications, and site support activities.
Responsibilities:- Review and interpret customer specifications and technical requirements.
- Support the development of electrical engineering documentation including:
- Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
- Block Line Diagrams (BLDs)
- Cable calculations and selectivity studies
- Load lists
- Cable routing and termination drawings
- Equipment layouts and datasheets
- Functional Design Specifications (FDS)
- User Requirement Specifications (URS)
- Assist in the design and specification of electrical systems and equipment including transformers, switchgear, MCCs, generators, distribution systems, and control equipment.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation, bills of materials, and engineering calculations.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, client specifications, and safety requirements.
- Support technical reviews of vendor quotations and equipment proposals.
- Participate in site surveys and provide engineering support during installation and commissioning activities where required.
- Respond to technical queries and support project teams throughout delivery phases.
- Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines to ensure coordinated project execution.
- Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and designers where appropriate.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards, processes, and documentation.
- Degree qualified in Electrical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Proven experience within electrical engineering roles in industrial or process-related industries such as energy, oil & gas, utilities, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, or similar sectors.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and industrial power systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings including SLDs, schematics, loop drawings, and P&IDs.
- Experience producing electrical design documentation and calculations.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and electrical codes.
- Experience using Autodesk software such as AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical would be advantageous.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Interest in renewable energy, sustainability, or emerging energy technologies would be highly beneficial.
- Chartered status or progress toward Chartership is advantageous but not essential.
