The Role

As MySQL Database Administrator (DBA), you are responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of MySQL databases.

Key responsibilities:

  • Installation & Configuration: Set up, configure, and maintain MySQL database servers across various environments (On-prem, Linux, Windows, or Cloud like AWS RDS).
  • Performance Tuning: Monitor system health and perform query optimization, slow query analysis, and indexing strategies to ensure high efficiency.
  • Backup & Recovery: Design and implement robust backup and restoration strategies to ensure 24x7 operation support and business continuity.
  • Security Management: Manage user access, permissions, and data encryption to ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
  • High Availability: Implement and manage MySQL replication (Master-Slave/Master-Master) and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Database Design: Collaborate with developers on schema design, table structures, and capacity planning.

Your Profile:

Key skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Proficiency in MySQL: Deep understanding of storage engines (InnoDB, MyISAM), MySQL 8.0 features, and partitioning.
  • Tools: Expertise in MySQL Workbench, Percona XtraBackup, and monitoring tools like Prometheus or Grafana.
  • Operating Systems: Strong command of Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting (Bash/Python) for task automation.
