This is a pivotal role within the Pharmacy Directorate, providing high-level data analysis, financial reporting, and leadership to a dedicated information team to improve medicines usage monitoring, cost control, and decision-making.About the Role:As the Pharmacy Senior Information Analyst, you will lead the analysis of medicines usage and expenditure data, ensuring accurate reporting and income recovery from commissioners. You’ll manage a team of pharmacy information analysts, liaise with senior stakeholders across Pharmacy, Business Intelligence, and Finance, and contribute to meeting performance targets, managing commissioner challenges, and improving data systems.This is an opportunity to have a real impact on patient care and operational efficiency by turning complex data into actionable insights.Key Responsibilities:Supervise and manage pharmacy information analysts, providing leadership and directionDevelop, design, and maintain medicines-related datasets and Power BI reports for decision-makingAnalyse complex, multi-stranded data to support senior management strategy and operational planningProduce monthly datasets for high-cost and specialist medicines, ensuring accuracy and complianceCollaborate with Business Intelligence and Finance teams to enhance data accuracy, governance, and reportingIdentify cost-saving opportunities and support delivery of Cost Improvement Plans (CIPs)Respond to medicines-related information requests and commissioner challengesLead training initiatives for pharmacy staff on data analysis best practiceRequired Skills & Technologies:Data Analysis Tools: Power BI, SQL, Microsoft Excel (advanced)Database Querying: T-SQL, Power QueryHealthcare Data: High-cost drugs datasets, medicines optimisation reportingReporting Skills: DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), data modelling, financial reportingStrong understanding of information governance, data accuracy, and healthcare data standardsExcellent communication skills, with ability to explain complex data to non-technical stakeholdersExperience with pharmacy or healthcare data systems (e.g., EMIS) desirableWhat’s on Offer:Salary between £35,000 – £45,000 depending on experienceGenerous annual leave entitlement and pension schemeOngoing professional development and trainingCollaborative and supportive work environmentOpportunity to work on high-impact projects improving patient care and service efficiency
