Blue Legal are partnering with a leading international law firm who are recruiting for a Business Development and Marketing Manager to lead their Financial Regulation Group and Risk Advisory in London office. The role will involve assisting the partners and associates on the development and implementation of BD plans and marketing infrastructure, initiatives relating to client targeting, product specific business development and internal and external profile raising.
The Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement BD plans aligned with strategic business objectives for the relevant practice areas.
- Lead and maintain core BD infrastructure, including events, credentials, client lists, communications, pitch materials, and collateral.
- Build strong internal networks and collaborate with BD teams across key practice groups and sectors.
- Coach and mentor junior team members, promoting knowledge sharing and team development.
- Drive improvements in processes, ensuring quality and consistency, particularly across the pitch process.
- Elevate the practice’s external profile through campaigns, thought leadership, PR, events, and digital presence.
- Manage priority client relationships and support execution of targeting initiatives and BD activity.
- Oversee legal directory and award submissions, and support internal communications and global BD coordination.
The Candidate:
- Proven experience in business development within a client-facing role, ideally in a finance-oriented legal or professional services environment.
- Confident advising senior stakeholders, with a strong understanding of client relationship management and the practice's core offerings.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality RFPs/pitches, manage priorities effectively, and maintain strong attention to detail.
- Proactive and resilient with a collaborative approach, capable of mentoring junior team members and taking ownership of deliverables.
