Scientist, Protein Purification and Biochemistry

In this role, you will focus on producing and purifying proteins, improving workflows, and collaborating with internal teams and external partners to meet project goals. This position requires a hands-on approach to problem-solving and a strong understanding of protein purification techniques. Responsibilities:Coordinate recombinant protein expression and purification both in-house and with CROsDevelop innovative solutions to complex protein production challengesDrive improvements in protein delivery workflowsCollaborate across teams to meet project milestonesLead technical planning with outsourcing partnersIdentify and onboard new CROs to enhance delivery timelines and efficiencyEnsure therapeutic candidates meet development criteria (e.g. reduced immunogenicity, robust purification)Analyse and interpret data to guide decision-makingStay current with scientific and technological advances in the field Key Skills and Requirements:Proficient in protein purification techniques including Protein A, affinity chromatography, and SECExperienced with biological matrices such as cell lysates and human serumLet me know if you\’d like this tailored for a job description, CV, or candidate profile.Coordinated protein expression and purification in both CRO and in-house environmentsSkilled in biochemical assays such as SPR and ELISAFamiliar with antibody optimisation strategiesStrong understanding of analytical methods for therapeutic proteins: SEC, SDS-PAGE, charge-based assays, and mass spectrometryKnowledgeable in applying SPR techniques to therapeutic antibodies For more information, please contact Jessica Taylor.
