Backed by strong funding and working at the cutting edge of agricultural science, the team is based in modern labs at Milton Park, Oxfordshire.The RoleThe client is looking for a plant physiology scientist to support its R&D pipeline. You’ll focus on photosynthesis, develop crop screening methods, and analyse data from lab and field trials. This role is key to improving traits in gene-edited crops and involves close collaboration with scientists and agronomists.Key responsibilities:Design and run experiments on gene-edited cropsAnalyse data from trials and lab studiesImprove crop traits through physiological and genetic insightPresent findings clearly to technical and non-technical teamsMentor team members and contribute to lab processesRequirementsPhD in Plant Biology or similar, with 3+ years\’ experienceStrong knowledge of plant physiology (esp. photosynthesis)Experience working with major crops (e.g. wheat, maize, soy)Skilled in data analysis (R, Python or SAS)Experience in field trial designAble to translate complex data into practical insights
