Challenges Abroad is a social enterprise that delivers transformative overseas trips for UK students. We’re looking for an energetic Account Manager to partner with schools in the South West or North regions. You’ll champion our unique programmes (community-focused, off the beaten track) and help inspire young people to become global citizens. All our trips are carbon-neutral (we offset emissions via tree-planting) and support local communities (we donate a share of revenue to our charity). This is a fully remote role with regular UK travel and occasional international visits.
What You’ll Do:
- Build and manage relationships with secondary schools and colleges across your region, proactively selling our overseas programmes to head teachers and teachers.
- Deliver engaging assemblies, presentations and info sessions for students and parents to spark excitement about our trips.
- Guide schools through every step of their trip planning – from risk assessments and budgeting to pre-travel training and post-trip debriefs.
- Coordinate internally (with operations, product and marketing teams) to ensure each expedition runs smoothly.
- Be a true ambassador for our mission – emphasise the educational benefits of travel, our community projects, and the fact that every programme is sustainable and carbon-neutral.
Who You Are:
- Experienced and self-motivated: 2–3+ years in sales or account management (ideally in educational travel, youth camps, or a related field). You have a proven record of exceeding goals and a passion for hitting targets.
- Great communicator: excellent at building rapport with school staff, students and parents; comfortable speaking in front of groups.
- Well-travelled and culturally sensitive: you’ve done your own adventures abroad and understand the challenges and rewards of cross-cultural experiences.
- Aligned with our values: you care deeply about education, community development and the environment. You’ll get excited about impact – 93%+ of our students report increased confidence and cultural awareness.
- Organised and proactive: able to manage multiple schools, keep track of details, and work independently (remote) as well as part of a friendly team.
Why Join Us:
- Meaningful Work: You’ll be part of a purpose-driven social enterprise. Our programmes deliver life-changing education for students and sustainable development for communities.
- Competitive Package: Salary £30–35k plus performance incentives. We offer 33 days holiday (inc. bank holidays), a health cash plan (after probation) and private health insurance (after 1 year), pension contributions and other perks.
- Flexibility & Adventure: Fully remote job with UK travel – you’ll be home based with travel to schools across your region. You’ll also enjoy the chance to see the world as part of your work.
- Growth Opportunities: We’re growing fast. You’ll have real responsibility in shaping our partnerships and may advance into senior roles as the company expands.
If you’re an ambitious, well-traveled salesperson who believes in ethical, impactful travel and loves working with young people, we want to hear from you! Apply now to join Challenges Abroad and help us inspire the next generation of Global Citizens.
