As demand for scalable cybersecurity grows, the business is now investing in its internal sales function and is seeking a Sales Development Manager to lead and expand the SDR team based in the Portsmouth area.
Role Overview
The Sales Development Manager will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing SDR team focused on generating qualified pipeline through outbound prospecting and inbound lead follow-up. Working closely with sales and marketing leadership, this role will help shape and implement the playbook, tools, and culture needed to support a scalable sales engine.
This is a key leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and is passionate about developing people, optimising sales processes, and driving measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Hire, onboard, and lead a team of SDRs to generate top-of-funnel leads through outbound and inbound activities.
- Design and execute SDR training programs, sales cadences, and messaging tailored to our client’s solutions (XDR, MDR, EDR, etc.).
- Collaborate with marketing to align lead-generation efforts with targeted campaigns and events.
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance reviews, and career development support for SDR team members.
- Establish KPIs, monitor performance, and drive accountability through regular reporting and analysis.
- Optimise use of sales technology platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Salesloft) for efficiency and transparency.
- Ensure a seamless lead handoff process to the account executive team and continuously improve SQL conversion rates.
- Stay current on cybersecurity industry trends and buyer challenges to improve outreach strategies and messaging.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience managing or growing a high-performing SDR/inside sales team within a B2B SaaS or cybersecurity environment.
- Strong understanding of outbound prospecting strategies, sales pipeline metrics, and demand generation principles.
- Skilled in the use of CRM and sales engagement tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Outreach).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and coaching skills.
- Data-driven, highly organised, and process-oriented.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity offerings such as XDR, MDR, EDR, SIEM, and compliance frameworks is highly desirable.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid model with regular presence in the Portsmouth office.
