About the Role: Our Client, a global leader in bulk liquid storage and logistics, is hiring an SME Mechanical Engineer to support their UK network. This role is key to ensuring engineering integrity across terminals and pipeline infrastructure, with a focus on mechanical systems including tanks, valves, and rotating equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical engineering scope, covering piping, valves, and rotating machinery
- Ensure compliance with UK and international engineering codes (API, EN, ASME, EEMUA)
- Conduct technical reviews, design checks, and manage specification deviations
- Support design and operation of major equipment (e.g. storage tanks, pressure vessels, jetty systems, fired heaters)
- Participate in hazard studies (HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA) and MOC (Management of Change) processes
- Maintain compliance with regulations: COMAH, DSEAR (ATEX), PUWER, PED, CDM
- Serve as part of the Operational Duty Manager rota
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- CEng status
- Experience in mechanical design, commissioning, and equipment lifecycle support
- Proven background in COMAH/major hazard environments
- Familiar with inspection and repair of fuel/chemical storage tanks and pressurised systems
- Strong understanding of legislation and safety standards (e.g. DSEAR, PED, PUWER)
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
