Overview

We are seeking an experienced Records Management SME to join our prestigious broadcasting client’s team. The specialist will work within the Records Management Programme and lead on the implementation of records management functionality within our SharePoint environment, and investigate the tools (existing and new) that could be used to undertake a discovery exercise of where out of retention digital records are being stored, and investigate the approaches that could be used for deletion of out of retention digital records.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert on best practices for the implementation of Records Management functionality into SharePoint, and lead on the discovery work for identifying and deleting out of retention digital records.
  • Review of current business requirements for implementation of records management functionality into SharePoint.
  • Review of current business requirements for a scanning tool to be used for the discovery (and subsequent deletion) of out of retention digital records.
  • Act as the central point of contact between the Records Management Programme and the Technology team.

Required skills and experience

  • Excellent understanding of metadata management, metadata standards, content types, retention labels, and taxonomy.
  • Experience of designing workflows and document lifecycle models.
  • Experience of configuration and testing.
  • Hands on experience with platforms such as SharePoint and Microsoft Purview (formerly known as Microsoft 365 Compliance Centre).
  • Familiarity with scanning tools leveraging AI search.
  • Experience implementing records management capabilities and functionality into tech systems, and the subsequent change impact.
  • Familiarity with how retention schedules work and the translation into technical/system requirements.
  • Background in Information Governance and Records & Information Management.
