Quality Technician – Space Imaging (contract)Initial 6 month contractChelmsford (4 days p/w onsite)£180pd / £24.32ph (Inside IR35)Space Imaging is expanding its portfolio of projects to develop Front End Electronics (FEE) systems and full payloads for Space applications. The imaging sensors developed and tested at the Chelmsford site have been used on humanities most important space imaging missions. These include the Hubble Telescope, Keplar, GAIA, Mars Rovers, New Horizons, and Rosetta to name but a few.The Quality Technician role is hands on to support all business aspects, including Manufacturing and driving improvement and efficiency.The Quality Technician will be responsible for ensuring that issues are dealt with in an effective manner, and appropriate Root Cause and Corrective Action is applied.Key Responsibilities:· Monitoring and enforcing cleanroom compliance with established protocols· Support Inspection for Incoming components to ensure that quality standards are maintained.· Non-Conformance Management and Improvement Activity.· Leading investigations into both internal issues and customer complaints/returns.· Performing Internal Audits in order to ensure that business processes are effective.· Support Audit activity for annual ISO9001 audits.· Support customer meetings and audits.· Quality approval of Delivery Review Boards.· Attendance of the Change Control Boards.· Approval of Change requests.· Review, approval and closure management of Permits and concessions.· Creation and maintenance of REACH/RoHS and other compliance declarations.Skills & Experience Essential Qualifications:· Higher technical education, ie HNC or above.· Quality related work experience in a manufacturing company· Knowledge of ISO 9001.· Strong analytical skills to identify the source of problems.· Lean Six Sigma.· 8D problem solving.
