Project Manager – international capacity buildingOur client is a globally recognised professional and awarding body. As part of their values agenda, they have focused for many years on international capacity building projects (connected to their professional sector). Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a background in international development to deliver a six-month project based for a client in Ethiopia and give support to other on-going projects in its portfolio.6-month temporary contractPart-time, on average 1.5 days a week (circa 10.5 hours a week) for 6 months, anticipated total of 36 days (dependent on demands of the project) Home based anywhere in the UK (no travel is required)Pay rate (PAYE, inclusive of holiday pay): £400 per dayYou will work alongside an established Programme Manager, who is very knowledgeable, and will be able to provide mentoring as you onboard into the contract. Your day to day responsibilities will include:Support project kick-off meetings – e.g. preparing engaging slide decks and logging actionsCoordinate and track information requests from the projects team to the key clientsIdentify and track projects’ dependenciesDevelop and maintain the project plansProduce and update the project RAID (Risks, Actions, Issues and Decisions), liaising with the projects team to gather updates from external meetings/eventsManage changes to projects plans, dependencies, timelines and risks (including appropriate record keeping and communication / escalation) across dynamic and fast-moving projectsSupport the production of internal and external project reportsSet the agenda and supporting documentation for internal projects meetings in partnership with the project team – chair internal project meetings and record and monitor actionsWork closely with the colleagues across the organisation on the areas above plus budget trackingWork with both the Specialist Programmes Manager and Projects Technical Leads to engage, brief and manage internal input from the corporate team and in-country teamsFacilitate projects evaluation/lessons learnt workshop and coordinate final project reportSkills needed: Capacity building and international development work, External Stakeholder Engagement, Leading Project TeamsProject Management, Project Planning, Project Reporting, Stakeholder CommunicationsPublic Sector Stakeholder Management, Intercultural AwarenessA recognised project management qualification is essential.Please note, we reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role.
