Production Engineering ManagerLocation: Crawley, West SussexHours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday, half-day on Fridays)Employment Type: Permanent, Full-TimeDepartment: Engineering / OperationsRole OverviewWe are seeking a Process Production Engineering Manager to lead our production engineering function within a high-mix, low-to-medium volume electronics manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for ensuring robust and scalable production processes across our SMT and PCB assembly lines, with a particular focus on continuous improvement, process capability, NPI integration, and quality assurance.This is a hands-on leadership role where you will work cross-functionally with production, quality, design, and supply chain teams to optimise efficiency, drive technical excellence, and support the delivery of customer projects on time and to specification.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and lead the production engineering team supporting SMT, PCB assembly, and box build processes.Develop, standardise, and maintain robust manufacturing processes for both legacy and new products.Oversee process capability, performance monitoring, and yield improvements across all stages of production.Lead the implementation of new production equipment and technologies, including process validation and operator training.Act as the technical authority during NPI introduction, ensuring Design for Manufacturability (DfM) is applied effectively.Collaborate with Quality and Operations teams to resolve manufacturing issues and reduce scrap/rework levels.Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and identify opportunities for cost reduction, cycle time reduction, and throughput enhancement.Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IPC-A-610, and other relevant standards.Support and maintain appropriate process documentation, including PFMEAs, control plans, work instructions, and risk assessments.Required Experience & QualificationsHND/Degree in Electronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or similar.Proven experience in a process or production engineering role within an electronics manufacturing environment, ideally with SMT/PCB assembly.Experience managing or supervising a team of engineers or technicians.Strong understanding of electronic component assembly, reflow soldering, AOI, and functional testing processes.Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools and methodologies.Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.This is a fantastic opportunity for aProduction Engineering Manager to make a real impact If you are ready to take on a leadership role where you can drive efficiency and team performance, apply today!JBRP1_UKTJ
