Here at ISS, as a leading Facilities Management (FM) provider, we are looking to recruit an Engineering Director to join one of the most prestigious, renowned and significant Accounts in the sector, for a client whose estate is massive, sophisticated and ever evolving.

The Engineering Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership, operational governance, and operational oversight for engineering services across the UK portfolio, achieving 100% uptime of all Critical Infrastructure and providing service delivery in line with all legal and regulatory standards.

By maintaining diligent oversight, the Director aligns technical operations with industry best practice, providing a high-quality experience for clients and stakeholders, aligning regional delivery with global standards, client expectations, and organisational objectives.

Additionally, the Director cultivates strong relationships with the ISS Integrated team and with our client, facilitating ongoing collaboration for seamless service delivery.

Through direct leadership and the promotion of best practice, the Director drives excellence, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement. Balancing strategic direction with hands-on leadership, ensuring operational excellence, risk mitigation, energy efficiency, and performance optimisation across the regional estate.

This is a role that rarely becomes available and we are looking for an industry best Technical Leader.

Actions will include:

  • Operate as part of the UK Regional Account Senior Leadership Team, providing effective and structured communication with all key Internal and External stakeholders.
  • Act as the Technical Lead and main point of contact for client within UK Technical Services operation, producing all necessary reporting to senior stakeholders within ISS and Client and attending contractual review meetings as per agreed contract governance.
  • Strategically Lead the Technical Services operation across UK Corporate region, with responsibility for the completion of all Engineering and Building Fabric planned, reactive and corrective maintenance activities in line with contract requirements.
  • Responsible for the in Region completion of all M&E and Building Fabric work orders, ensuring the Region meets contract SLAs & KPIs.
  • Drive continuous financial and service improvement – Improving cost efficiency while maintaining consistency or improving service levels, responsive to changing business needs.
  • Chair the UK Region Engineering and Building Fabric Risk Board, focusing on reviewing ongoing risks and supporting client and other stakeholders in effective close out and escalation of risk impacting ISS and Client.
  • Support ongoing adherence to engineering standards in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act (HAS) requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory and institutional requirements and recommended best practice.
  • Provide leadership over ISS Authorised Person process and oversight of the On Account Team of Authorising Engineers team.

We need from you:

  • A strong engineering background within Electrical and/or Mechanical with relevant qualifications within the built environment space.
  • Director level experience of technical delivery across a Critical Engineering Hard FM Account at a large scale.
  • Very well developed stakeholder management skills.
