This customer-facing role combines installation, commissioning, fault finding, and ongoing technical support for cutting-edge AI-powered camera systems designed to improve operational safety and productivity in industrial environments.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will work directly on customer sites, carrying out equipment installation, system configuration, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting activities. You will act as a key technical contact for customers, ensuring systems operate reliably while delivering a high standard of service and support.

The role offers exposure to advanced technologies including computer vision, AI-driven tracking systems, industrial networking, and safety solutions. You will work closely with internal engineering, product, and commercial teams, providing valuable field feedback to support continuous product improvement. This is a varied and highly practical role involving regular UK travel, customer interaction, and opportunities for long-term technical development as the business continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, test, and commission RTLS hardware and software systems at customer locations.
  • Carry out on-site fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure maximum system uptime.
  • Provide first-line and second-line technical support to customers both remotely and on-site.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, system health checks, and performance optimisation activities.
  • Support customer training and handovers following installation and commissioning.
  • Work closely with customers to resolve technical issues quickly and professionally.
  • Assist with system upgrades, software updates, and configuration changes.
  • Complete service reports, installation documentation, and technical records accurately.
  • Support technical demonstrations and occasional trade show or customer event activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to escalate recurring issues and provide field feedback.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety and site compliance requirements.
  • Travel regularly across the UK to support customer sites as required.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in a Field Service Engineer, Service Technician, Installation Engineer, or similar technical role.
  • Degree, HNC/HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong hands-on electrical, electronic, or electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience working with industrial systems, CCTV/camera systems, networking, automation, or related technologies would be advantageous.
  • Interest in technologies such as computer vision, AI systems, RF technologies, and industrial safety applications.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical faults independently in customer-facing environments.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple service activities.
  • Comfortable working independently and travelling regularly to customer sites.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Good working knowledge of IT systems and networking principles.
  • Experience with Linux and Python would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the UK.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
The Offer:
  • A permanent, full-time employment contract
  • A salary & benefits package commensurate with experience
