Are you passionate about contributing towards the learning and development of Newly Qualified Social Workers and Social Work Degree Apprentices? We currently have an exciting opportunity for a part time (30 hours), Team Manager within the Social Work Academy, Adult Social Care. The role is a permanent position based at County Hall, Morpeth, however the service is county wide across Northumberland. The Social Work Academy supports Newly Qualified Social Workers during their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) and Social Work Degree Apprentices during their three-year degree programme.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our well-established team. Northumberland's Social Work Academy received an external quality assurance visit from Skills for Care in March 2023. Assessors from Skills for Care reported they found the work of the academy to be "an exemplar of national best practice in relation to the work and experiences of the academy".

The ideal candidate will be motivated, engaging, and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, whilst being effective in working with others. Effective time management is essential to manage the supervision of staff, whilst supporting them to attain the ASYE certificate. If you are enthusiastic and passionate in supporting the development of a learning culture within Northumberland and embed and promote excellent social work practice, then we would like to hear from you.

Requirements of this role:

  • A professional social work qualification e.g. Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, CSS
  • Valid Social Work England Registration
  • Evidence of continuous CPD profile
  • Knowledge and understanding of the ASYE programme framework and the Social Work Degree Apprenticeship
