Neos Engineering are partnered with a long-established company specialising in power generation and critical backup systems. With decades of expertise and a strong reputation for quality service, the company is now looking to expand its engineering team due to consistent growth and new long-term contracts.
The Role
As a Mobile Generator Engineer, you will split your time with field-based assignments around Livingston and surrounding areas with occasional workshop duties if business requires. You will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, and fault finding on a variety of diesel and gas generator systems, supporting both commercial and industrial clients. This is a varied and rewarding position ideal for someone who enjoys a combination of hands-on mechanical and electrical work with customer-facing responsibilities.
Key duties include:
- Service, maintenance and repair of generator sets (diesel and gas)
- On-site fault finding, load testing, and system diagnostics
- Preventative maintenance and emergency call-outs (with overtime available)
- Workshop-based rebuilds, inspections and electrical testing if required
The Candidate
We are looking for someone with proven experience in generator engineering β ideally in both mobile and workshop environments. You should be confident working independently, have strong problem-solving skills, and be able to represent the business professionally in front of customers.
Essential:
- Background in diesel generator maintenance and repair
- Comfortable with both mechanical and electrical systems
- Full UK driving licence
- Willing to travel
Desirable:
- Experience with control panel wiring and diagnostics
- Manufacturer-specific training or certifications (e.g. FG Wilson, Perkins, Cummins)
- Diesel Generator experience
