Are you a talented and enthusiastic Mid-Weight Developer with a passion for e-commerce and a knack for crafting exceptional online experiences? Do you thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy taking ownership of website development and optimisation? As their Mid-Weight Shopify Developer, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining, optimising, and enhancing our Shopify storefront, which is the heart of their online business. You'll work closely with their existing Shopify development team (two skilled developers) and their Digital Designer to ensure a seamless and engaging experience for our loyal customers.
Team: Reports to Senior Shopify Developer, works alongside a Junior Developer and collaborates closely with our Digital Designer and Marketing Team.
What you'll be baking (your responsibilities):
- Theme Maintenance & Optimization: Primarily focused on maintaining their current Shopify theme, identifying areas for improvement, and undertaking significant refactoring and optimisation projects to enhance performance and scalability.
- Feature Implementation: Collaborating with their Digital Designer to bring new features and updates to life, ensuring they are implemented flawlessly while maintaining the current design and user experience.
- Front-End Development: Implementing and modifying front-end elements, including menu navigation, layouts, modals, and conditional logic using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Shopify Ecosystem: Developing and integrating Shopify extensions and functions to enhance site functionality.
- Marketing Support: Providing technical support to our Marketing team for various campaigns and feature requests.
- Version Control: Managing Shopify theme versioning effectively to ensure a stable and recoverable development process.
- Collaboration: Working closely with the Junior and Senior Developers on the team, sharing knowledge and contributing to a positive team dynamic.
What you'll bring to the table (your skills & experience):
- Solid experience as a Mid-Weight Developer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your front-end development skills.
- Proven proficiency in Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience working with the Shopify platform and its theming system.
- Familiarity with React for building interactive components.
- A good understanding of data manipulation and how it applies to web development.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high design and UX standards.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
