Ceto Talent is proud to be partnering with a globally respected Maritime and Engineering Consultancy, renowned for their high-calibre response and expert witness work, delivering fast, trusted insights when the maritime industry needs them most.
As part of continued international growth, they’re seeking a seasoned Master Mariner to join their UK-based team. This is a remote-first role with regular (fully paid) collaboration days in London. You’ll also have the opportunity to travel globally - sometimes at short notice, to attend vessels, support salvage efforts, or contribute to high-impact operations.
What You’ll Be Doing:- Provide expert marine consultancy to a global client base (including P&I Clubs, insurers, brokers, legal firms, and shipowners).
- Attend salvage operations, casualty responses, and wreck removals, often on-site and at short notice.
- Work closely with technical and legal teams to deliver clear, defensible expert opinion reports.
- Travel internationally as required (around 20% of the role).
- Master Mariner (Unlimited) – Class 1 Certificate of Competency is essential.
- Solid seagoing experience, ideally on Bulk, Break Bulk or General Cargo vessels.
- Shoreside experience as a Marine Superintendent or Port Captain is strongly preferred.
- A clear, professional communicator, confident in both technical writing and stakeholder interaction.
- Work remotely from anywhere in the UK with all travel expenses covered.
