Myn is supporting a global platform business with a key leadership hire as part of a broader reorganisation within engineering. This role sits above individual teams. You'll be responsible for a group of engineering teams and the managers leading them, with a focus on improving how delivery works across the organisation. The environment is already established, with multiple teams, dependencies and moving parts. The priority now is creating more consistency, improving flow, and strengthening how teams operate at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple engineering teams through Engineering Managers
  • Support, coach and develop Engineering Managers across performance, growth and hiring
  • Own delivery across a broader area, ensuring work is aligned and progressing as expected
  • Improve how work is planned, prioritised and executed across teams
  • Identify where delivery slows down or breaks, and address underlying causes
  • Work closely with product and senior stakeholders to maintain clarity on priorities
  • Help shape engineering practices across areas such as CI/CD, automation and observability
  • Drive improvements in delivery flow, release processes and overall engineering effectiveness
  • Contribute to improving reliability, scalability and overall system health
  • Manage cross-team dependencies, risks and delivery challenges across a complex environment

Requirements

  • Experience managing Engineering Managers directly (manager-of-managers experience)
  • Strong technical background, with the ability to guide teams without being hands-on
  • Experience working in environments with distributed systems, production scale and operational complexity
  • Track record of improving delivery across multiple teams
  • Familiarity with modern engineering practices (CI/CD, automation, observability)
  • Comfortable working across teams, stakeholders and organisational boundaries
  • Strong leadership and communication skills

Nice to have

  • Experience in financial services, fintech or other complex, regulated environments
  • Exposure to platform or infrastructure-focused teams
  • Experience supporting organisational change, transformation or restructuring
  • Awareness of engineering metrics such as lead time, deployment frequency or system reliability

The environment is an established platform with multiple engineering teams already in place. The focus now is on improving how those teams work together, creating more consistency in delivery, and building a stronger foundation as the organisation evolves.
