I am currently working with a leading engineering and maintenance provider, supporting customers across the nuclear, oil & gas, renewables and many more industries. With a global workforce focused on enhancing efficiency and implementing critical technology into these sites. This is a full-time, permanent role based in the Portsmouth area.
My client is growing rapidly in the automation space and are therefore looking for an experienced Systems Engineer, with strong controls knowledge and experience across both SCADA systems and PLC's. The focus of this role is to help the team across a number of projects working closely with the Lead Engineer, Lead Project Manager and the more junior team to deliver across their clients in critical infrastructure.
Essential Experience- A minimum 5 years' experience with integrated control systems and automation
- Knowledge of the full project lifecycle, from design to commissioning
- Development and deployment of detailed designs
- Extensive hands-on experience of PLC's and SCADA systems eg. Ignition, AVEVA, Rockwell, Siemens or Schneider
- A good knowledge of Control panels with electrical installation and Instrumentation solutions.
- Industrial Protocol Knowledge (IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus etc)
- IOT and Edge Computing (NodeRed, MQTT etc)
- IT/OT Convergence
- Network design and configuration
- Cyber Security
