We are recruiting for an experienced Quality, Risk and Governance Director to join a growing healthcare and social care provider with services located nationally across the UK. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished professional with a strong background in quality assurance, clinical governance, regulatory compliance, and operational improvement within care home or healthcare environments. The successful candidate will lead the organisation's quality and governance strategy, ensuring the highest standards of care, compliance, safety, and continuous improvement across all services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the organisation's quality, risk, and governance framework across all services nationally
- Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding requirements, and all relevant legislation
- Develop and implement quality assurance systems, audits, and governance processes
- Monitor service performance, identify risks, and implement effective improvement plans
- Support operational teams to achieve and maintain high-quality care standards
- Lead investigations relating to incidents, complaints, safeguarding, and regulatory concerns
- Produce governance reports and present findings to senior leadership and board-level stakeholders
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and person-centred care
- Support services through inspections and regulatory visits
- Develop policies, procedures, and best practice guidance across the organisation
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to regional and home management teams
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior quality, governance, or compliance leadership role within healthcare or social care
- Strong working knowledge of CQC standards, governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance
- Experience supporting multiple services across a large geographical area
- Registered Nurse qualification desirable but not essential
- Excellent leadership, analytical, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage complex investigations and implement sustainable improvements
- Experience working with elderly care, nursing homes, dementia care, or specialist care services preferred
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally
