We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer who will design and deliver modern solutions for a diverse portfolio of clients. Working within cross-functional teams, you'll be involved in the full software development lifecycle - from concept through to deployment and maintenance.

Key responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain Java applications
  • Participate in the full SDLC (design, development, deployment, maintenance)
  • Contribute to system architecture and solution design
  • Build and secure RESTful APIs
  • Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders
  • Troubleshoot production issues and optimise performance
  • Create and maintain technical documentation
  • Share knowledge and mentor junior developers
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend improvements
For the Lead Consultants: additional duties:
  • Juniors mentoring
  • Driving digital transformation
  • Building trusted relationships with the clients
Requirements:
  • At least 5+ years of experience with Java (Kotlin/Scala is a plus)
  • Strong knowledge of Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC)
  • Experience designing and building RESTful APIs
  • Solid understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, and design patterns
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines)
  • Knowledge of at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve performance issues
  • Strong communication skills
  • +AngularJS and AWS for the role in Leeds
Nice to have:
  • Message queueing systems (Kafka, SQS)
  • Serverless technologies (e.g., AWS Lambda)
  • Monitoring tools (Dynatrace, ELK, Splunk)
  • JPA / Hibernate
  • Swagger / OpenAPI
  • Testing tools (Selenium, Postman, etc.)
  • Experience delivering end-to-end projects

Salary:

Depending on your experience and performance during the interview process:

  • Belfast: £40,000-£45,000 + £600 in cash benefits
  • Manchester/Newcastle: £45,000-£50,000 + £600 in cash benefits
  • Lead Consultant role in Manchester: £54,000-£64,000 + £5,100 in cash benefits
