We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Associate General Physician to join our client's private hospital based on a stunning Caribbean island. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality critical care to a diverse patient population within a technologically advanced and fast-paced clinical environment, while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.

Purpose of the Role

To provide high-quality, patient-centered medical care as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting senior consultants and ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate clinical services across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and review patients under the supervision of consultant physicians.
  • Conduct initial patient assessments, admissions, and discharge planning.
  • Request and interpret diagnostic investigations.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and ward rounds.
  • Provide urgent and routine clinical cover when required.
  • Maintain accurate, timely electronic medical records in compliance with institutional policies.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and care plans.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, audits, and clinical governance initiatives.
  • Participate in continuing medical education and professional development.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
  • Full registration and current licensure in one of the recognized jurisdictions accepted by the Cayman Islands' Health Practice Commission:
  • United Kingdom, Canada, USA, Jamaica, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years post-registration experience in general medicine or a relevant specialty.
  • ACLS/BLS certification (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated competence in delivering evidence-based care in hospital settings.
  • Excellent English communication skills; additional languages an asset.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Postgraduate training (e.g., MRCP, MRCGP, DM, or equivalent).
  • Prior experience in Caribbean or small-island healthcare systems.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
