This is a full-time, permanent role requiring relocation, offering excellent career development and benefits.The RoleWorking as part of a skilled team, you’ll carry out a wide range of duties on the gas distribution network, including:Mains replacement, diversion, and new service installationsELR leak detection, surveys, and repairs using industry-approved methodsService disconnections, reinstatement, and camera surveyingRoutine and non-routine maintenance on mains and services up to 355mmStreetworks supervision – including signing, lighting and guarding, reinstatement permits, and compliance paperworkOperating machinery such as 360 dumpers, diggers, and lifting equipment to support utilities worksSupporting the response to Public Reported Emergencies (PREs) and liaising with duty personnelOn-site coordination with contractors, the public, and external agenciesParticipation in a 1-in-4 emergency call-out rotaWhat We’re Looking ForNCO (Gas) – Mains Layer & Service Layer (up to 355mm)NCO (Gas) – Escape, Locate & Repair (ELR) – ELR is not mandatory experience to have Utility SHEA Gas (EUSR valid)Experience in streetworks supervision, utilities operations, leak detection, and reinstatementKnowledge of SCO procedures, excavation safety, and reinstatement standardsSkilled in safe control of operations, customer interaction, and site planningCompetent in heavy plant and machinery operations (360 dumper, lifts, excavation equipment)Full clean driving licencePositive attitude, great communication skills & a strong team playerAvailability for the emergency duty rota (1 week in 4)Desirable but not essential: HGV licence, SCO permits, IGEM technical standards knowledge, PASMA scaffolding experience, and excavation safety training.This is a unique opportunity for a qualified utilities professional with a background in gas distribution, mains laying, and ELR repairs to step into a secure, full-time role with relocation support.
