Optegra has an exciting new job opportunity for an experienced Glaucoma Doctor to join our amazing and dedicated team in North London. This is a part time role you'll be required to work 2 days per week 19h/pw (Wednesdays and Fridays).

The Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Staff Grade Doctor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our NHS medical glaucoma service, providing both clinical and surgical assistance. This position requires a compassionate professional with a deep understanding of glaucoma management and patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, evaluate and manage patients with existing and undiagnosed glaucoma along with other ocular conditions.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and procedures such as visual field assessments, optical coherence tomography (OCT), volk, CCT and gonioscopy.
  • Provide management plans for existing Glaucoma referrals
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients.
  • Collaborate with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to service development initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding glaucoma management and treatment options.

What You'll Need:

  • Medical degree from a recognized university
  • Valid GMC registration with a license to practice in UK
  • Experience in ophthalmology, particularly in managing glaucoma cases and ability to work independently
  • UK NHS Glaucoma clinic experience
  • Gonioscopy experience
  • SLT laser experience
  • Excellent diagnostic and clinical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
