Ardmore Construction Group is looking for an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join our team on one of our prestigious West London based projects.
The Project: This is a landmark regeneration scheme in the heart of Hammersmith, involving the sensitive refurbishment and extension of the Grade II-listed Town Hall, alongside the delivery of new civic, commercial, residential and public spaces. The project forms part of a major mixed-use development designed to create a modern civic campus for Hammersmith & Fulham, combining heritage restoration with contemporary construction. The project is now nearing completion, and we are looking for a commercially strong Quantity Surveyor to support the team through the final stages of delivery. This role will focus heavily on closing out supply chain accounts, managing payments, resolving commercial queries, and agreeing final accounts with subcontractors.
You will be joining the project at a critical stage, where strong commercial discipline, attention to detail and the ability to drive matters through to conclusion will be essential.
The Role: As Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for supporting the commercial close-out of the project, working closely with the site team, commercial team and supply chain partners. Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and processing supply chain payments.
- Reviewing subcontractor applications and assessing payment notices.
- Supporting the agreement of subcontractor final accounts.
- Reviewing variations, contra charges, claims and commercial entitlements.
- Working with site teams to verify progress, completed works and outstanding items.
- Ensuring commercial records are accurate, up to date and properly maintained.
- Liaising with subcontractors to resolve queries and close out accounts efficiently.
- Supporting cost reporting and commercial forecasting as required.
- Helping drive the project through the final stages of completion and commercial close-out.
About You: We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and bring strong commercial experience from a main contracting background. You should have:
- Previous commercial experience at a similar level working within building sector.
- Strong knowledge of subcontractor payments and final account agreements.
- Experience working on large-scale construction projects, ideally mixed-use, residential, commercial, civic, heritage or public-sector schemes.
- Good understanding of JCT or similar forms of contract.
- Strong negotiation, communication and record-keeping skills.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work closely with site-based teams.
- Availability to work on site in Hammersmith 5 days per week.
Contract Details: This is a site-based contract role required until the end of July, with the possibility of extending into August depending on project requirements. This would be paid as a competitive day rate (discussed at interview) through an umbrella company.
