We are seeking an experienced Principal or Associate Mechanical Design Engineer to join this dynamic team in the field of Building Services Engineering. As a key member of the organisation, you will play a crucial role in designing and optimising mechanical systems for large-scale projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking the lead in projects of various scales and will delegate drawing and thermal calculations to junior staff members. Your expertise will contribute to the successful delivery of sustainable, efficient, and innovative solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other engineers to develop mechanical designs for HVAC, plumbing, and drainage systems for mission critical projects.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, site surveys, and energy assessments to inform design decisions.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Evaluate equipment and materials for suitability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Participate in project meetings and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the mechanical design team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (BEng minimum).
  • Chartered Engineer status (preferred).
  • Minimum 5-6 years of experience in mechanical design for building services.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, TRACE, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
