A globally recognised engineering and infrastructure business is hiring a Head of AI to build and lead its AI capability from the ground up. Operating across multiple continents and delivering complex, high-impact projects, the organisation is now investing heavily in AI, modern engineering practices, and governance as part of its next phase of transformation.
This is a senior, high-impact role sitting within the IT leadership team, with a clear mandate to define AI strategy, introduce governance, and scale a capability with significant long-term investment behind it.
What you'll do:
- Define and deliver the organisation's AI strategy and governance framework
- Build and scale a high-performing AI & engineering capability (incl. 3rd party teams)
- Embed security-by-design principles across AI and software development
- Bridge the gap between technical teams and business leadership
- Drive adoption of modern platforms, tools, and engineering standards
What I'm looking for:
- Strong software or data engineering background with a hands-on edge
- Experience operating in large, complex, or global environments
- Proven ability to lead teams and influence at senior/executive level
- Track record delivering AI or advanced data solutions in production
- Strong communicator, able to translate technical concepts into clear business value
