The Opportunity

We're looking for an Electrical Project Engineer to support the delivery of electrical and energy infrastructure across a global events portfolio. Working alongside senior stakeholders, technical teams, and external partners, you'll play a key role in designing, planning, and delivering reliable power systems from concept through to execution and post-event analysis. This is a varied role combining engineering design, project coordination, and on-site delivery.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Planning & Coordination
    • Develop and manage project timelines across multiple events
    • Carry out site assessments and evaluate venue requirements
    • Translate stakeholder needs into clear project scopes
    • Design electrical layouts, including cable routing and system overlays
    • Collaborate with energy providers on generation, storage, and distribution strategies
    • Identify health, safety, and regulatory requirements early in the planning phase
    • Coordinate logistics such as equipment, fuel, and on-site infrastructure
  • Project Development
    • Establish and refine delivery processes and project frameworks
    • Implement systems for monitoring, data capture, and reporting
    • Support cost planning, budgeting, and value engineering initiatives
    • Produce and manage documentation such as SoWs and SLAs
    • Contribute to continuous improvement and programme expansion
  • Delivery & Execution
    • Oversee installation and commissioning activities on-site
    • Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, suppliers, and venue teams
    • Manage testing, client sign-off, and acceptance processes
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical and safety standards
    • Monitor project performance, including costs and variations
    • Produce post-event performance and energy usage reports
  • Engineering & Technical Support
    • Provide electrical design input across multiple projects
    • Produce both high-level concepts and detailed technical designs
    • Advise on system protection, component selection, and circuit configuration
    • Create and maintain technical drawings using CAD tools
  • Additional Duties
    • Support live event operations, including international travel when required
    • Collaborate with wider teams to ensure seamless delivery across functions
    • Provide additional operational support during event periods

What You'll Bring

  • Essential Experience
    • Background in industrial or commercial electrical installation
    • Experience delivering temporary power solutions for events, broadcast, or similar environments
    • Strong project delivery experience in complex environments
    • Familiarity with testing, commissioning, and client acceptance processes
    • Understanding of commercial, procurement, and budget management principles
  • Desirable Experience
    • Exposure to data monitoring systems such as SCADA or HMI
    • Experience using project management tools or systems
  • Qualifications
    • Electrical Engineering qualification (HNC, HND, or Degree)
    • Recognised electrician certification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, AM2, JIB Gold Card)
    • Testing & Inspection certification
    • Knowledge of temporary power standards (e.g. BS7909)
    • Project Management certification (e.g. PMP or equivalent)
    • Electrical design qualifications
    • Relevant site certifications (e.g. IPAF, plant operation licences)
  • Technical Capability
    • Strong electrical design and specification skills
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design tools
    • Experience with power systems including generators, UPS, and battery storage
    • Understanding of automation and monitoring systems
    • Knowledge of UK and European electrical regulations
    • Strong IT skills, particularly Excel for analysis and reporting
